Lovely Salad & Sweet NoteJun 23, 2011

I'm in love with this salad mix. It's the perfect balance of sweet and a touch of bitter greens. I live in Chicago and have a small veggie garden on my small balcony. This lettuce blend produces amazingly. I have two containers of it growing - I'll cut half of one container for a salad for 3 people almost every other day. The lettuce grows back in a week and is ready to cut again.
It's a beautiful, inexpensive, and easy way to get perfectly fresh salad. I do not have a green thumb and probably spent a total of 45 min setting up the lettuces in the first place.
I would also like to mention that the person I purchased this mix from sent a lovely hand written note and plan markers along with my seeds. It was very encouraging and when I almost decided not to plant because it would be a hassle - I reread the note and got to work - and I'm super glad I did, it took less time than I expected and has produced more than I imagined.
I'll get some more next year... or maybe I should get some more for the fall season!
