If you are growing this lavender in a container a good choice is terra cotta. This way there will be excellent drainage through out the pot.

Features:

A fine compact lavender growing only to 12 inches with a clean lavender scent.

It will bloom the first season if you start it early enough.

All Lavender plants need well draining, lean soil and as much sun as you can find.

The seeds are tiny so they must be started indoors.

Lavendula angustifolia

2Not worth it..Apr 14, 2011

I had bought a packet of these seeds at a local shop and only 2 plants grew out of all the seeds, sadly one died. I contacted customer service and they willingly sent me replacement packet, but still nothing grew and it's been over a month now.

2 stars for customer service only.

5Renee's Rules!Feb 22, 2010

After smelling these beauties at a local nursery, I knew I had to have them. I purchased a few packages of Renee's Garden French Perfume lavender and went to work at home. They were germinated in regular peat pots. I had 3 fluorescent lights on them for a month and a half, kept it nice and warm. I hardened them up by placing them outside during very warm days and when Spring was in full swing I transplanted these lovingly into my garden. We had a really nice Summer so these did well and produced flowers in their first season. I'm in zone 8 so I think that the frost did them in during the Winter but that just means I can buy more!! Highly recommended especially if you know what you are doing.

No germination at all... They are in a hydroponic system and I got nothing out of them at all. Waste of money.
