5Luscious Large TomatoMay 24, 2011
By D. T. Socci-Brown
This is a show stopper of an heirloom tomato, all thanks to the late Ruby Arnold of Tennessee.
It always amazes people when I grow this variety. They are astounded that a green tomato can taste as sweet, deep and succulent as this one does. I find this to be one of the tastiest tomatoes I have grown so far. They are lovely to look at as well. The color takes on a slight amber hue when they are ready to harvest, and many times you will find a pink star-burst on the blossom end that permeates right into the flesh. The plants get huge in my garden, and while there are many other varieties that are more prolific, this plant is still not a light weight in production. Size of the fruit is usually in the 1 pound range. This variety is as flavorful as it is unique.

I could not believe this when I saw it. Being from Louisiana I truly appreciate fried green tomatoes. These are going to be a hit.

5These Seed where wonderfulOct 31, 2009

I started these tomatoes indoors last year for an earlier crop, they produced amazing, large juicie tomatoes all season and stopped only after the 3rd or 4th frost here in Minnesota. Highly recommend them.
