Cat Grass is one of the easiest seeds to grow. Directly plant in a heavy (for stability) container where you want your cat to dine. Our regular cat grass  for $1.59 is entirely oat seeds. Our Gourmet Cat Grass is mixture of rye, oats, barley and wheat seeds. You will get several sowings from each seeds packet. Catnip is another story it is a perennial that should be started indoors and then transplanted outside. As with all perennials it takes 2 to 4 weeks to germinate. Catnip will die back in the winter butwill return as it is hardy to minus forty degrees.
