Countless Carrots

All carrots started out being purple. The Dutch in the 17th Century bred them to be orange to match their flag. Did they have flags in their dining rooms? Plant carrots seeds 1/4 inch deep in loose soil. In climates where temperatures don't dip below 25 you may grow carrots all year. The seeds germinate in less than a week, so they are a great first gardening experience for children.
